OKAY SO APPARENTLY MIKE LOMBARDO SOMETHING BLAH WHATEVER UNDERAGE FANDS NAKED PICTURES YEAH

okay so but like a 16 year old knows what they’re doing when they send someone naked pictures of themselves

they are not 8

legally it’s illegal obviously but it’s not like they were preyed on

if you don’t want to send pictures of yourself naked to someone, don’t. don’t be like OH GOSH I AM A VICTIM

also hey nerdfighter people shut up. mike lombardo was not a nerdfighter. and this shouldn’t have to affect “the community”

i wasn’t originally going to say anything about this situation, but this made me legitimately angry. 

i became ‘friends’ with mike lombardo when i was seventeen. a few months from turning eighteen. a few months from meeting my long time boyfriend. 

we started talking about personal things. we made me feel like my lack of sexual attraction and desire was wrong. something was wrong with me. the way he used his words…were predatory; they were used to make me feel like i NEEDED to take pictures of myself - even though i know better than that - to prove myself. as a woman. as a normal person. 

after a couple days, i freaked out because the lessons of “everything on the internet stays on the internet” scared me. i stopped sending pictures. i deleted them from my inbox. i deleted his pictures. i deleted them from the camera. after a few weeks, we stopped communicating. 

i became friends with another girl who had done similar things with mike at the same time as me. she was hurt because she thought they had something legitimate. 

i have no interest in getting involved with anything, but mike is a bad guy. he uses people’s weaknesses against them and people do things against their better judgement. 

i haven’t really been permanently scarred because i’m in a healthy relationship, i have come to terms as an asexual woman, and the quick fade of our ~friendship~ was pretty normal in my life on the internet. intense relationship over two weeks and slowly fades over time. plus i’m 19. i’ve had time to grow and understand what happened between us.

but don’t go around blaming the victims. you don’t know their stories. 

and this does effect the nerdfighter community. he was was preying on the young woman in the community which is suppose to be a safe place for people.
